Regulation on the Citizenship Transactions of Our Foreign Customers within the Scope of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Turkish Citizenship Law; 

- Deposits of at least 500,000 US Dollars in Turkish lira will be deposited in banks operating in Turkey, provided that they are kept for three years.

- The foreign currencies to be sold by banks to the Central Bank are US dollar, Euro, British pound and Swiss franc.

  • It is not possible to change the currency for applications submitted before 06.01.2022. For applications submitted on or after 06.01.2022, the deposit account must be in Turkish Lira.
  • As stated in the Implementation Instruction on the Sale of Foreign Currency to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, once the foreign currency purchase process is completed, the sale cannot be reversed for any reason, and related transactions cannot be cancelled.

Citizenship Application and BRSA Process

  • Within the scope of the Turkish Citizenship Regulation, 500.000 USD will be deposited by the person applying for citizenship to his/her own account.
  • By the Customer: Identification Form, Declaration Form, Account Statement, Passport Copy, Foreign Currency or a document proving that the currency has been deposited or transferred is submitted to the BRSA (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency). The BRSA informs the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs and the General Directorate of Migration Management of the determination regarding the applications that meet the conditions specified in the regulation, and sends the sample letter to the online bank in order to inform the person. The bank shares the relevant text with the customer.
  • The customer applies to the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs and the General Directorate of Migration Management with the BRSA determination letter. He/she carries out this process personally or through a power of attorney (lawyer, etc.).
